Reviews: "Three stories about the lives and loves of those who own a certain yellow Rolls-Royce:
**First purchased by the Marquess of Frinton for his wife as a belated anniversary present, the Marchiness finds her own use for the vehicle - one which prompts her husband to sell the car in disgust.
**Gangster Paolo Maltese's moll, Mae, thinks the Rolls is a "classy" car in which to tour Paolo's home town in Italy. When Paolo is called away to the States to finish some "business", a bored Mae takes the Rolls on a spin through the country, enjoying both the sights and the handsome Italian photographer who crosses her path.
**By the outbreak of World War II, the car has come into the possession of socialite Gerda Millet. While on her way to visit Yugoslavian royalty, Gerda and the Rolls become (at first) unwitting and then (eventually) most willing participants in the Yugoslavian fight."
Such was written and I agree with it (the name of the film-viewer is not given).
Oh what our cars could tell us! Think about it. A brand new car is bought, then bought again and again. What about the people inside the car, what they thot of the world, of politics, of war, and love. Three stories of different viewpoints, and all very good.
I love Rex Harrison, being also the star of my favorite film, "My Fair Lady." In this film he plays a statesmen, what one would call a politician. Yet the trails of State are not in focus here, but his marriage. I feel for him because he has fallen prey to the adultrous wife. Rex now can no longer be jovial in anything he does.
The film winds up with Ingrid Bergman, a wonderful actress, in WW2 and the high-flutten lady that knows everyone high-flutten is caught up in the war in Yugoslavia and how she manages to turn around and help other less-fortunate people.
Then, in the end credits, you see the Yellow Rolls Royce in a highway right next to a city and, in 1964, when this film was released, the Rolls is still going strong in this day!
God uses numerous things to wake up and smell the roses, that it is God who took the Yellow Rolls Royce through the 3 segments you just saw, and in each tells us that "He is tempted in everyway" yet came out golden! :-) |
