That's Entertainment 3 (1994) *****
It was 2 years between the release of the first 2 films, but 18 years to see the release of 3. Did it hold its own?
Yeap!
Mostly song, it highlights the stars and boy, do I ever want to see them again!
I especially like Fred Astaire, and the segment where his choreography is the same but 2 dances, one in top hat and tails, and one as waiter in a restaurant, the same dance, but goes to show you the painstaking way Astaire took to show off to the audience what he had done, and he superlatively did it!
Then Eleanor Powell -- you don't know her? She was the first and best tap dancer ever in the female category. Oh, she was beautiful in her day. Again the filmmakers showed us how a dance was performed, the camera behind the camera, so-to-speak. My heart stand still when Ms. Powell is in the room!
I wish the 3 films were on the bookshelves of everybody, that at least they got a glimpse of Hollywood in its glorious and magical day!
