Reviews: You know friends, as far as theatrical films are concerned, I have see all the James Bond movies. Gee! I was 14 years old when this film came out (just to note that I didn't go see a theatrical 007 film until "Moonraker," but throughout the '60s I saw a bunch, including "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang," book by none other than Ian Fleming and the film rights by the good ol' boys that handled James Bond!) Tho I was stricken with 007-itis, feeling up my library with Fleming novels, getting 007 music soundtracks, but not going to see a movie. Strange huh? Something tells me that my parents had a might to say on that!
I thing personally I was in Ocean Springs, Mississippi (I lived all over due to my father in the Air Force then in 1972-3, moving up to Chattanooga, Tennessee when he became a preacher, attending Tennessee Temple College). I wasn't allowed now to see theatrical films. My parents thot it was sinful and, I believe still think its sinful -- my parents didn't change theology, tho I did when studying the Scriptures.
Back to this film.
When George Lazenby decided (?) he would only play Bond in one picture, the producers were in a worry. Who would they get? Hmmm, maybe make him an American? That's the way they when, even signing a fairly well known actor (John Gavin, who played a bit part in Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho"). Well, thru trial and error, Sean Connery was back for one more film, and boy am I glad! "Diamonds Are Forever" stands or falls according to whomever plays 007.
