Reviews: Travel to 1955. Future is not here. Television is raking motion pictures almost off the map. Okay, you have a lot of the field for that time.
In this picture you will be shown stuff that you have not seen before, or only heard about: The SAC. You feel as Stewart feels when he flies, all the set up, check list, and day to day operations of Stewarts plane or jet. Besides a good story in the air, the plot is quite good on the ground with Allyson holding the fort down.
Good overall story.
Now I can’t wait for a good quality DVD or Blu-ray is available! This DVD I’ve got is not only 1:33.1 instead of VistaVision (1:85.1), but it is of such a poor image…well I would not have watched it except for James Stewart!

————————— Lt. Col. Robert (Dutch) Holland was a third baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, not a pitcher. While at spring training a B-36 flew over the field and Dutch was standing on third base. Brewster was his third base replacement when he, Dutch was re-called to duty. The movie clearly depicts this. |
