Reviews: CHAPPiE is an upcoming 2015 American science fiction action thriller comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Neill Blomkamp. The film stars Sharlto Copley, Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, and Sigourney Weaver, as well Watkin Tudor Jones and Yolandi Visser from the rap/rave group Die Antwoord. The film is scheduled to be released on March 6, 2015, by Columbia Pictures.
Presumed to be a feature version of Blomkamp's own 2004 short Tetra Vaal, with elements from 2006 short Tempbot which features a similar-looking robot protagonist, the film will be about a robot named CHAPPiE programmed with the artificial intelligence to think and feel for himself. |
