Reviews: I think “Poseidon” in 2006 with Kurt Russell was much better, but at least it was good. I watched the documentary on it. I believe it was the first time Irwin Allen released a film. Formerly he made it in TV, “The Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants.” Great TV shows to be sure, but nothing compared to film. It was known as Irwin’s Folly when it the screenplay and production was in the works. Money was also a problem, but Mr. Allen stuck to his guns. When the film was released, it was the biggest box-office draw in that year! Kudos Mr. Irwin Allen (tho now he’s passed away) |
